Edmonton
A friendly rivalry may exist between Alberta's two largest cities but one thing can't be disputed - Edmonton stands proud as the capital of Alberta.
3 hours north of Calgary and 4 hours east of Jasper, Edmonton is considered by many to be the "Gateway to the North". Two major highways intersect here, one taking travellers into Northern British Columbia, the other into Northern Alberta. Our Edmonton RV Rental location is located just south of the city in Leduc, giving easy access in all directions.
Topping the list of things to do in Edmonton, Alberta would be the West Edmonton Mall. Shopping is plentiful here but it's the opportunities for recreation and fun which draw millions of people each year. Imagine swimming with sea lions or ice-skating year-round on a full-size domed ice rink. Or, maybe, spending a day at the World Waterpark.
Away from the Mall, more relaxed activities are available in Elk Island National Park, an important refuge for bison, elk and more than 250 bird species, and at the Ukranian Cultural Village.
A free guided tour of the Alberta Legislature will give you an insight into provincial government while the grounds provide a quiet place to enjoy the outdoors. More active visitors might like to hop on a Skegway and ride through the river valley.
Families will enjoy stepping back in time at Fort Edmonton Park, a living museum focusing on Edmonton's early years. There are numerous other Edmonton attractions worth visiting, so a plan to stay a few days in the city of Edmonton should be high on the list.
