CanaDream Club & Sustainability

CanaDream Club is proud to work with Canadian tourism partners and operators that are committed and fully engaged in a sustainability journey to ensure the Canadian landscape and environment can be enjoyed for generations to come.

CanaDream Club looks specifically for partners offering:

Eco Tourism: a sustainable form of natural resource-based tourism that focuses primarily on experiencing and learning about nature, and which is ethically managed to be low-impact, non-consumptive, and locally oriented. It typically occurs in natural areas and should contribute to the conservation or preservation of such areas.

An Eco-fee to support their environmental-focused projects and initiatives that will reduce the impacts and improve the sustainability performance. For example, the Sandman Hotel Group started a “Go Green Program” adding $2 to each Guest’s invoice to fund initiatives and innovations to become a greener accommodation provider. Most Whale Watching Companies pass their eco-fee to Wildlife Rescue and Research Organizations or the protection of the ocean and environment.

Certifications from accredited organizations: Some Club Hotels and Tour Operators are supporting sustainable and environment friendly practices throughout Canada and the World. As an example, Club Partners are follow the Future-fit Business Benchmark, have a Biosphere Certification are certified by GreenStep, BC Green Business Leader, World Cetacean Alliance, RTI (responsible Tourism Institute), GSTC (Global Sustainable Tourism Council) and many more.

Responsible Travel principles: referring to the behavior and style of individual travelers. The behaviors align with making a positive impact on their trip and at the destination.  Here some examples: Many Campgrounds have implemented the Campers Code, promoting 9 rules that are easy to follow. Encouraging campers to abide by these makes camping enjoyable for all, nature can thrive, campers become friends, animals stay wild and free.

Many Campgrounds are promoting longer stays offering discounts to reduce carbon emissions from driving longer distances.  You will also find clever initiatives to conserve water and reduce power usage, recycling bins, solar energy, reduce campfire impact, clothes lines, EV charging stations and this is just the start.

We will continue to work with Club partners that align with our goal of promoting responsible travel and those that support our desire to RV with respect.
