Yes, we have many happy Guests on the road experiencing places unaffected by wildfires in Canada at their own pace. With the rapidly changing wildfire situation in British Columbia and Alberta we recommend that Guests use all the available resources to plan their trip carefully.

The beauty of having your own RV is that you can be flexible and change your travel plans! While it is very unfortunate that many popular locations are not safe to visit right now, there are many alternatives, and we recommend you plan some alternative fun places to go to this summer. We have many great RV itineraries offering alternative routes.
If you are concerned about your campground reservation, please contact them directly to cancel or change your reservation. We recommend that you download the CanaDream Club app to search for alternative campsites on your revised route.
Please also note that there are many first come first serve campgrounds in the parks, so simply arriving at the campsite and checking for availability that day is possible. Although they are typically unserviced (no electrical, water, or sanidumps), they are a great alternative for 1-2 days of camping.

Please see our Booking Amendment policy, which applies to changes in travel dates, vehicle type, and pick up and drop off location. Contact our booking team and speak with one of our agents on webchat, phone or email. They will be happy to discuss the options available to you.

If you have travel insurance or credit card insurance, we recommend checking to see if they are able to cover you for cancellations or curtailment coverage, should you decide not to travel or to cut your trip short.
If you have booked through a tour operator
- We understand that the wildfires in Alberta and British Columbia increase concern for health and safety when travelling. While it is very unfortunate that many popular locations are not safe to visit right now, there are many alternatives, and we recommend you plan some alternative fun places to go to this summer. We have some many great RV itineraries offering alternative routes.
If you have travel insurance or credit card insurance, we recommend checking to see if they are able to cover you for cancellations or curtailment coverage, should you decide not to travel or to cut your trip short.
If you have booked through a tour operator
- Please contact your tour operator to discuss your options, unfortunately, we would not know the terms on which you have booked.
We would encourage guests to secure a campsite with electrical hookups and other campsite services at the minimum every 2-3 nights to have access to electrical plug-ins 30-amp (min. 15-amps) supply, and to have a water refill and sani dump accessible at some point on the campground. This information is based on the average usage of the fresh water and septic tank systems. The coach batteries will be affected by numerous conditions (power consumption, solar charging, etc.) and we encourage our Guests to plan their resource stops along their routes to ensure optimal functionality of the RV.
When you are not connected to the campground electricity the 12V system from the coach batteries will provide power to appliances such as the water pump, water heater, furnace, lights, USB chargers, fridge, etc.
It is very important to ensure you are regularly providing a sufficient charge to the coach batteries to ensure optimal functionality of the RV by plugging in to campground electricity daily, running the generator 2-4 hours daily, or driving 6-8 hours daily. The solar panel will provide a slow charge on sunny days.
The coach batteries alone are not powerful enough to operate the 110V appliances (microwave, roof air conditioner, or wall outlets). If you cannot connect to campground power but require full power appliances as mentioned above, the generator (with associated cost) can also provide full power to the RV, while providing a consecutive charge to the coach batteries.
We do not recommend relying on only engine charging or solar panel charging for extended periods of time. We recommend to secure a 30-amp electrical connection at least every 2-3 days to ensure the coach batteries stay sufficiently charges to prevent any disruptions during your trip. If you will not be plugged into a campground, it is recommended to run the generator for 2-4 hours daily to charge the coach batteries.

Yes, you can travel into the USA if you have advised CanaDream in advance. We will add on the US Driving fee ($100 + taxes one-time fee) to ensure you are fully insured when driving in the USA. You can call us while you are on the road or send us an email and we will add this onto your booking. If you have been diverted due to a fire and must enter the USA to get back to Canada, please let us know so we can review the cost at drop off.

Any cancellations or needing to rebook with CanaDream Club partners will need to be discussed with our booking team directly. Please contact our booking team and speak with one of our agents, either on webchat, phone or email. Our agents can check the status of the tours operating in the affected areas and see if we are able to rebook you for different dates or offer you other tour suggestions in areas that are not affected by the wildfires.
Highway 93N has reopened, so the Icefield Parkway is now drivable and the Icefield visitor center is now open. Highway 16 is also open, however Jasper town is still closed and there are no services open along these highways.
