You can select your pick-up time during Online Check-in (which opens 5 days before pick-up). To ensure a smooth, efficient operation and to minimize waiting times, we offer a range of pick-up slots:
- Standard Pick-up slots are between 1:00pm and 3:30/4:00pm, no charge.
- Early Pick-up slots are between 10:00am and 12:30pm for a $75 fee (subject to availability).
Pick-up slots vary from station to station, depending on the volume of pick-ups and Crew. You will see what time slots are available to you during Online Check-in, so we recommend that if you want a particular pick-up time, to commence Check-in as soon as you receive your invitation to start. This will provide you with the widest choice of times.
Unfortunately, pick-up times cannot be booked before Online Check-in due to the scheduling of our fleet. Guests are encouraged to arrive on time for their chosen pick-up slot, so our Crew can help get you on the road as quickly as possible.
CanaDream does not recommend Guests pick-up on the same day as flying in from an international flight. It is best to rest and pick-up the day after, so you are fresh and ready to set off on your RV road trip. CanaDream stations are unable to stay open for late-arriving Guests if flights are delayed and pick-up slots are missed.
- We strongly recommend that Guests who require the use of medical devices, such as CPAP machines, consult with their medical professional for their recommendation on travelling with their specific medical equipment.
- The RV's electrical system is not designed to support the continuous power requirements of medical devices, and sole reliance on the RV's operating system for such purposes is not recommended.
- Renters are responsible for ensuring their medical needs are met in a manner that is safe and should determine a portable power source for their equipment such as a CPAP machine.
- External rechargeable batteries should be considered to ensure you always have a functional machine. Auxiliary power sources, such as inverters or solar chargers can be considered in consultation with a medical professional.
- CanaDream does not accept liability of the RV’s power source causing medical equipment to be inoperable and this responsibility rests entirely with the Guest.
We strongly recommend that Guests plan to stay in campgrounds during their RV vacations, particularly if they are unfamiliar with the area. This adds a layer of safety to their travels and provides them with access to campground facilities and hookups. If Guests choose not to stay in campgrounds or are unable to secure a booking, there are other options. Refer to our blog, Camping for Free in Canada, to learn about camping on Crown Land and other places.
Where space is available, we are happy for CanaDream Guests to park a car at our location while heading off on an RV road trip. This is strictly subject to availability in our lot and based on a first come first served basis. Reservations for parking are not possible and only one car is allowed per booking. We cannot offer any guarantee that parking will be available on any given day. Where parking is available, there will be no charge to the Guest except at our Edmonton, Montreal, and Toronto locations where a parking fee of $35 plus tax applies, regardless of the duration of the booking. Sorry, we are unable to provide EV charging stations at our locations.
Our partnerships with airport parking facilities provide Guests with a discount offer for parking at their secure lots. Most of these lots also offer a EV Charging Service to ensure your vehicle is fully charged when you return from your trip. Please make your booking direct with the parking provider. CanaDream does not offer a transfer service to/from the parking provider's storage lot. Guests must arrange their own transport.
We are also happy to provide offers from our airport hotel partners for short-term parking if you stay one night at their establishment (hotel offers apply only when booking through CanaDream Club).
At any time prior to pickup, you can prepurchase kilometres for your trip. Our options are:
Upgrade from 100km to 160km per night
Upgrade from 100km to 250km per night
Purchase 500km package
Purchase 800km package
Purchase unlimited kilometres
See our current pricing sheet for more details.
To ensure you know before you travel and to manage your expectations, please contact booking@canadream.com in advance, and we will be happy to check for you. We always recommend that you travel with soft foldable luggage as they can be easily stored in the RV, hard cases will be more difficult to store especially in smaller RVs. Guests on one way journeys must take their luggage with them.
CanaDream RVs have GPS tracking which trigger alerts when any RV is being driven into a Northern Surcharge, Prohibited or Restricted travel area.
Yes. Before booking your ferry, please check out all the regulations for the ferry company that you are travelling on. Be aware that the propane tanks on all our motorhomes comply with ferry regulations. If you have any queries please contact us.
When booking any ferry, please book space for the maximum size of RV within your chosen category to prevent any space issues on arrival at the ferry, e.g. when booking a ferry for a Super Van Camper (SVC) (23-25ft), we recommend you book enough space for 28ft RV. If booking a Saver 4 RV we recommend you book a ferry space for 28ft (the largest RV size within this category).
BC Ferries operate ferries between mainland BC and the islands such as Vancouver Island. Many Guests will travel on a BC ferry – so here are a few helpful tips on booking a BC Ferry:
- Know the details of your booked RV - see specifications here.
- Our RVs are 13' high. Select a standard and oversized vehicle with a height over 7ft. Insert this height where indicated on the booking form.
- Vehicle length – select over 20ft, and insert the total length for your vehicle type where indicated on the booking form. Check the length on our Specification Sheet of the RV category that you have booked and add 5ft … this will allow for some leeway. Space for RVs is very tightly controlled and if you book too small a space, you may miss your ferry and be rebooked on a later sailing where there is the right space. It is better to have more space than too little.
- Make your reservation well in advance. Ferry sailings can sell out and you may have a long wait to get an RV on a ferry.
- If you miss your scheduled time, you will be placed in the standby lane to await a suitable space on a later sailing.
- Planning to take a BC Ferry from Vancouver (Tsawwassen) on the same day as you pick up? Please do not book a sailing before 6pm, as we cannot guarantee an early pick up and the latest RV pick up time is 4pm.
Guests are also not permitted to travel on some routes in the Yukon and Alaska, along with roads in Northern Quebec and Labrador at any time. See Prohibited Travel Areas and Restricted Travel Areas in our FAQ section for full details of these routes.
There are some urban restrictions within Canada and the United States where Guests are not allowed to park or travel through. Please see Urban Travel Restrictions in our FAQ section for details.
Note that CanaDream RVs have GPS tracking, which triggers alerts when any RV is being driven into a Northern Surcharge, Prohibited, or Restricted travel area.

Passes can also be purchased in-person or by using Wi-Fi at Kananaskis Visitor Information Centres (Barrier, Elbow and Peter Lougheed) and the Canmore Nordic Centre Day Lodge. Only one pass per personal or passenger vehicle is required.

Bike racks can be fitted on the tow hitch of our SVC, MHB, MHA and MHX RVs. Unfortunately, due to the rear access doors (emergency exits) on our TCA and DVC units, they cannot be fitted to these vehicles. Guests renting a DVC or TCA would need to carefully carry their bikes inside the vehicle and we would recommend putting the bike into a bike sock to protect the bike and the RV.
We are happy to enable Guests to travel with their bikes and have Swagman bike racks for rent from all of our corporate locations. These bike racks are suitable for up to four bikes with a maximum carrying capacity of 140lbs. More information about our bike racks is available here. Up to date pricing for this product can be found on our Pricing page.
Yes. We are happy to provide 3 in 1 child seats for our Guests for a small fee. During peak season a child seat may be in short supply so we suggest you book these prior to your arrival or bring your own with you. We don't rent portable cribs, strollers or playpens, however our reservations department may be able to give you the name and phone number of companies who can assist with this.

Guests are required at pick up to read and sign our "Before you drop off your RV" document. This document is available in English, French, German, and Dutch.
If there is any discrepancy between the wording on the English document and that on the French, German, or Dutch versions, the wording on the English version will apply.
If you have not purchased one of our optional "We are happy to" packages at pick up and choose not to clean your RV prior to drop off, cleaning charges will apply.
See our current pricing sheet for more details.
Select your pickup and dropoff locations and dates in the booking box on the left, click on "Rent an RV" and away you go! CanaDream's real-time availability and pricing will let you see the price of your RV vacation immediately. We are happy to honour the price you receive on your quote for up to five days from the date of the quote. After five days, the quote will expire and a new quote will be required.
A booking is only confirmed when we receive a $ 500.00 deposit. If the booking date falls 30 days prior to the pick up day, then we will require full payment at the time of booking. Please contact our reservations department between 08:00 and 17:00 MST at 1-800-347-7126 (toll free within North America), or 403-259-5447 if calling from Calgary, Alberta. You may also contact us by email at booking@canadream.com.
A small portion of our fleet will offer Two-way fridges. Two-way fridges generally run on propane when the RV is not plugged into shore power and automatically switch to run on electricity if an external power source is detected.
Please check the How to Guide and the Guest Guide for the model of RV you receive to confirm the required settings for the refrigerator. The type of fridge in an RV cannot be guaranteed and will be based on fleet availability for the date of pick-up.

Guests who travel to these areas without permission will be subject to a $1500 penalty and will void all insurance coverage. CanaDream RVs are all tracked for insurance purposes and Guests will be contacted when they drive into a northern surcharge area if they have not pre-purchased the Northern Surcharge fee.
